Names

There was an article in the Wall Street Journal a few days ago about the baby naming industry. Yes, it's become an industry and people are actually hiring consultants to help them name their babies!! Is that really necessary? I'm not saying it's easy; I'm just saying it's personal. Of course, I'm all for free enterprise, so if that's what you need to do, there are now many resources available to assist.

By the way, just in case you're wondering...no, we haven't yet selected a name. :-)

That's really strange, or maybe we should go into business and help these people pick names! We're waiting to travel to Taiwan for our baby boy.

Nancy Friedman, a professional namer, has an ongoing series on baby naming trends:

It's a fun read, although I'm not sure what reading it is like when you're actually looking for a name. ;) Hope things go well with the chemo!

How weird! Maybe I need a consultant! We can't decide on a name!

Maybe a name consultant is what we need. DH keeps suggesting things like "Tecumseh" (as in William Tecumseh Sherman) and other gems! I am not sure how well "Tecumseh" would go with a Tiawanese middle name and our German last name...

What you mean you havent contacted a professional baby namer?? LOL! LOL! Thats nuts! I will advise this... I so wanted to name my son Kobe Tai until my husband looked the name up on the internet. Its a porn actress name (from Taipei mind you) & so I was over ruled & went w/ Kobi Sheng-An. So just make sure to check out this website before a final decision www.imdb.com LOL!
